Substitute Teacher

Title: SUBSTITUTE VPK teacher

Hours: April 15, 16, 17th – 8-11 am daily

Information: We are in need of a substitute teacher to cover a VPK Class. Due to our accreditation, a substitute teacher must have their DCF 40 hours completed and be able to complete a Level 2 Background check. Due to our VPK Contract, a substitute teacher must qualify on E-Verify.

Northside Christian Preschool

Description: Northside Christian Preschool is designed for children ages 3 – 5 years (non-kindergarten age) and fully potty-trained by their first day of school. We offer a ten-month program from August through May. We are certified providers with the Early Learning Coalition (ELC) of Polk County for Florida’s Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK).

The substitute must uphold the primary responsibilities of the teacher for the duration of the position.

Responsibilities include:

● Supervising children at all times

● Model behavior expectations, and the Fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 2:22-23).

● Maintain integrity and Christ-like behavior in conduct (Proverbs 16).

● Implement planned curriculum, integrating preschool benchmarks of the Florida Early Learning and Development Standards

● Follow the school schedule, routines, and procedures

Qualifications:

● A substitute must be at least 18 years of age.

● All substitutes must have certification of taking the DCF 45 clock-hour introductory course in childcare.

● Ability to pass a Level 2 Background Screening

● Must be able to qualify for employment on E-Verify

● Verification of previous childcare work experience

Additional Expectations:

● Possibly attend orientations, staff meetings, curriculum-planning meetings, and/or and in-service training provided at Northside Christian Preschool.
Pay: $13.00 – $14.00 per hour
