Project Description

Child Care Management Course

In partnership with Southeastern University, the League of Christian Schools offers the Early Childhood Administration and Management Course to prepare early education employees for the challenges of preschool leadership. The Early Childhood Administration and Management (Gen. Elec. 1000) course is administered in a fully online format with the support of an Early Education Specialist. This 45-hour course will cover all aspects of the operation of a childcare center, including establishing positive working relationships with faculty members and parents, evaluating and designing the facility, equipment selection, activity planning, scheduling, financing, budgeting, record keeping, and marketing. Students completing this course will receive their transcripts from Southeastern University for three (3) college credits.

To take this course, a student must hold a current staff credential, CDA, FCCPC, or equivalent. In order to complete this online application, you will need to have a digital copy of your DCF Transcript, FCCPC, or CDA to upload.

As a Christian director, you will be expected to integrate ideas and ideals on creating a purposeful and spiritual atmosphere while fostering spiritual growth in your employees and the children you serve. This 45-hour course meets the requirement of the “Overview of Child Care Management” as defined by the Florida Department of Children and Families and meets course requirements for the Florida Child Care and Education Program Director Credential.

This course is entirely online from registration to completion. Once a student has registered, an automated email will outline the next steps to access the FLOCS Online Learning Portal. Students independently work through fifteen (15) sessions, followed by quizzes, case studies, and other assignments. A resident instructor is available by email and phone and will grade assignments and provide feedback to student responses.
