Are you integrating technology into your future plans for your school or center? Do you know what the future looks like for emerging educational technologies?

integrate techThere are two basic types of technologies used in teaching: instructional technologies, and digital learner technologies. As may be evident from the wording, instructional technologies are those technologies that are used by teachers in the instructional process. They are integrated in addition to other instructional methodologies. Digital learning technologies are those digital resources that are used directly by the learner. These are the most important developments in digital learning in the past ten years. We have learned very clearly that student learning can be much more effective when the student interacts with the digital medium rather than just the teacher.

Now a new report, NMC Horizon Report: 2015 K-12 Edition, examines emerging technologies for their potential
impact on and use in teaching, learning, and creative inquiry in schools. Pay particular attention to the second section (Significant Challenges Impeding Technology Adoption
in K-12 Education).
